Google’s Android portable operating system helped power mobile-device maker HTC to its largest quarterly profit ever at $268 million. HTC’s leading Android devices, including the Droid Incredible and the EVO 4G, built on more than a decade of smartphone experience. An analyst said the results prove Android is not a “flash in the pan.”
